Adonai Mitchell, Texas WR, reportedly settles on NFL Draft plans
Adonai Mitchell has made a big impact on Texas after he earlier was a key contributor at Georgia. Now the Texas wide receiver will look for a new team to play for in the NFL, Chip Brown of Horns247 reported.
Mitchell has developed into one of the best College Football Playoff pass catchers as he’s caught a touchdown pass in 5 straight Playoff games. This season, Mitchell caught 11 touchdown passes, and overall had 55 catches for 845 yards.
Mitchell played in all 14 games and started 13 for Texas in the 2023 season, including a 1-yard TD reception in Texas’ 37-31 CFP semifinal loss to Washington in the Sugar Bowl.
Mitchell transferred from Georgia after he decided he wanted to be closer to his 2-year-old daughter, Icylinn, who was living with Mitchell’s parents just outside of Houston. Mitchell entered the transfer portal right after Georgia’s national championship victory over TCU and chose Texas without ever taking a visit, Brown reported.

SEC fans will remember Mitchell’s clutch catches this season in the win at Alabama. Mitchell made TD receptions of 7 and 39 yards in UT’s 34-24 win at Alabama, both in the fourth quarter.
