Arian Smith’s decision has been made, the Lakeland, Fla., athlete is leaving his home state to play football for Kirby Smart’s Georgia program.

Rated as a top 100 overall prospect and the nation’s No. 14 receiver prospect by 247Sports Composite Rankings, Smith made his decision over his other finalist, Alabama. Smith is also a track star for Lakeland and should provide some much-needed speed to Georgia’s receiving corps next fall.

Obviously landing a player of Smith’s caliber is always going to be celebrated by Georgia, especially when the Bulldogs manage to keep recruits away from Alabama and Florida, but Lakeland has long been a stronghold for the Gators.

Following this news, Georgia now has 17 total prospects committed to the program’s 2020 recruiting cycle with all but two of those prospects — five-star offensive lineman Broderick Jones and four-star offensive lineman Sedrick Van Pran — signed during the first day of the Early Signing Period.
