When the Braves take the field for the first time this season, they will do so at the behest of Nick Chubb.

Chubb’s role in Opening Day in Atlanta will be to make the first “Play Ball” of the season for the Braves. The team announced the news Monday evening. Atlanta’s opening day is Thursday, March 29. The first 40,000 fans to attend the game with also receive a “Chop On” Tomahawk.

Braves legend Chipper Jones is throwing out the first pitch in the game.

It’s honors like this that let you know Chubb has reached another stratosphere of popularity in Georgia as the Bulldog legend is being asked to help celebrate the first game of the season for Atlanta’s baseball franchise. Now it’s up to Kirby Smart and company to find a way to somehow replace everything Chubb brought to the Bulldogs.

Landing the nation’s No. 1 recruiting class, and being off to an early start toward landing the nation’s No. 1 recruiting class in 2019 is a great place to start.
