Georgia just got off to a rough start to the week on the recruiting trail as the program’s highest-rated 2022 commit just announced he has reopened his recruitment.

Fort Worth, Texas five-star defensive lineman Bear Alexander is no longer committed to the Bulldogs. He announced his decision on Monday following a visit to Texas A&M.

The Brewer High School standout issued the following statement to announce his decision:

“I am blessed and appreciate the opportunities that Georgia has offered me to be a part of the Bulldog family. The landscape of football has changed tremendously since I last visited with schools, and though still one of my top choices, I am officially decommitting from Georgia and reopening my recruiting. I want to thank Dawg Nation for all the support over the time of my commitment.”

The 6-foot-3, 325-pound Alexander is currently rated as the No. 26 overall prospect in the country, the No. 7 defensive lineman and the No. 7 overall prospect from the state of Texas in the 2022 recruiting cycle according to 247Sports Composite Rankings.
