Carson Beck receives injury update following SEC Championship game, per report

Carson Beck suffered a UCL injury in his right elbow during Georgia’s SEC Championship victory over Texas on Saturday, On3 Sports’ Pete Nakos reported Monday morning.
The UCL connects the upper arm and forearm, which means a potential tear would make it extremely difficult to do anything more than hold a football. There has been no announcement made by Georgia regarding his status for the Sugar Bowl.
Kirby Smart gave this update on Beck following Georgia’s win over Texas. According to Nakos, Beck is looking for a second opinion on his elbow after getting an initial MRI on Sunday morning.

Obviously, this is awful timing for the Bulldogs – even with the promising performance of backup QB Gunner Stockton fresh on the mind. Of course, Beck was able to re-enter the game for the final handoff, sealing the win for Georgia in overtime after Stockton had his helmet knocked off and had to leave for a play.
Beck has objectively taken a step back this season after a strong 2023 campaign. He’s thrown twice as many interceptions and 500 less yards as SEC defenses got a better look at his tape.
Georgia will face off against the winner of Notre Dame/Indiana on January 1, with or without Carson Beck.
