Carson Beck reveals lesson learned from Stetson Bennett
Carson Beck spoke at length about how much of an impact Stetson Bennett had on the current starting QB for Georgia football. Beck discussed this at Wednesday’s press conference.
Beck learned that it’s better to just keep your head down and keep going when playing quarterback. Beck noted how Bennett did this very well and hopes to mirror it on the field.
Bennett now plays for the L.A. Rams in the NFL.
“He got it the worst at quarterback. A lot of people really hated on him a lot. You can see that all over the internet. He just maintained and kept his head down, kept going. I’d say that’s the biggest thing I learned from him. You just have to do you, be you and honestly, it doesn’t really matter about the noise going on around you as long as you control your actions and effort towards the game.”
Beck will see just how much scrutiny a college quarterback can come under as 2023 will be his first season as the starter. The expectations will be high for the Bulldogs, even without Bennett this time around.
Beck’s first game will be against UT Martin on Sept. 2. Kickoff will be at 6 p.m. ET on ESPN+.
