Colton Heinrich, a 3-star tight end out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida (Cardinal Gibbons) has announced a commitment to play in the SEC.

Heinrich committed to Georgia as he wrote on social media, “Blessed to join the Dawg nation!!! How ’bout them Dawgs.” He told Steve Wiltfong of 247Sports that his position and Georgia played a factor.

Heinrich is the No. 30 tight end in the country in the Class of 2024, and the No. 93 player in the state of Florida, according to 247Sports Composite.

“I had to trust my gut,” Heinrich said. “Everything was telling me, for a tight end right now, I don’t think there is any better of a school you can be at right now. Coach (Todd) Hartley is amazing, best in the game, same with Coach (Kirby) Smart. Everything checked my boxes, education, football, Athens is a small town. The culture is amazing.”

Heinrich has a reported 35 offers, and chose Georgia over the likes of Ohio State, Arkansas, Auburn and Cincinnati.
