If there’s been a Georgia player most outspoken about how the Bulldogs should respond, and what changes to make going forward following the South Carolina upset loss, it’s RB D’Andre Swift.

Swift in recent days has said the offense needs to be expanded through the passing game, and he maintained immediately after the game that Georgia’s goals are still available.

“If anything, I think it’s going to bring back more,” Swift said on WSB’s Bulldogs Game Day. “Especially coming off that loss, we know what’s ahead of us and how we need to approach these next upcoming games. Everything is a playoff game, and I think if anything, it’ll bring more.”

Swift is familiar with previous losses last year to LSU and in 2017 against Auburn, and how Georgia responded.

“I think we’ll be fine,” he said.

Coach Kirby Smart struck a similar tone earlier in the week.

“This is not the first time we’ve had to deal with this,” he said. “Each year we’ve had to deal with it at different times from different opponents. And they acknowledge that. They understand. Last 20 years or something of the SEC East I don’t think a team that’s represented the SEC East has been undefeated. Maybe Florida, I think one year they did. But outside of that it just doesn’t happen very often. What’s more important is that our team gets ready for Kentucky and gets ready to go play than talking about the rest of the year, because we have to worry about Kentucky.”

Swift should get more help out of the backfield with the expected return of RB Brian Herrien, who missed last week’s game with back spasms.

The Bulldogs will play host to Kentucky this week at 6 p.m. on Saturday on ESPN. Georgia is listed as a 25-point favorite.
