Who will win the next Heisman Trophy? Most mention Trevor Lawrence, Tua Tagovailoa or even Jalen Hurts first when predicting the next player to win college football’s highest individual honor.

The SEC Network’s Chris Doering? He’s got another name that tops his list this preseason.

According to the former outstanding Gator receiver and veteran college football analyst for ESPN/SEC Network, the player most likely to win the award come the end of the upcoming regular season is Georgia running back, D’Andre Swift.

“D’Andre Swift is going to win the Heisman Trophy, for a myriad of reasons,” Doering recently offered up during an appearance on SiriusXM. “First of all, he is playing behind the best offensive line in the conference — maybe the best in the country, so we know he’s going to have an opportunity to have a great push up front and open up some holes for him.

“He’s been a dynamic player that is not only a powerful back but can get vertical and outrun second-level defenders, so he has a chance to break off some long runs. But where has he been the most useful, in terms of his versatility? It’s in the passing game as a guy that’s able to flex out in the slot.”

Swift opens the season with 14/1 odds to win the 2019 Heisman Trophy, which ranks as the seventh-best odds to win the award this preseason. Tagovailoa (2.5/1), Lawrence (3/1) and Hurts (8/1) have the best odds to win the award this preseason.
