Former Georgia center David Andrews agreed to a three-year extension with the Patriots, according to ESPN.

That’s incredible news because the Patriots originally signed Andrews as an undrafted free agent in 2015, and he’s now entering his third year with the reigning Super Bowl Champions. Andrews ended up having a great training camp and starting 11 games as a rookie, because starting center Bryan Stork was injured. The rest, as they say, is history.

Following his first start against the Steelers in 2015, Brady praised Andrews after the Patriots won 28-21.

“We’ve worked pretty hard getting (David) up to speed, and he did a tremendous job. They [other rookies] played with a lot of toughness, so it was great to … Dave did a great job at center,” Brady said at that time.

Little did Brady know that Andrews would become a staple in Patriots’ offensive line, and now, he’s cemented through 2020 with the team. He would have been a restricted free agent after this season.

For Georgia, Andrews was a three-year starter and All-SEC center for Mark Richt and became a finalist for the Rimington Trophy.

Players don’t always have to be drafted to have big NFL careers, and Andrews and the Patriots know that better than anyone.
