Under Kirby Smart, Georgia has become a force on the recruiting trail on an annual basis. And it can now claim that it is the best in the country in that department.

According to 247Sports.com, the Bulldogs are the No. 1 team in FBS when it comes to “Team Talent Composite,” derived from the site’s proprietary formula in rating recruits. A composite rating of .9999 is the highest a high school player can receive.

Georgia’s 2020 recruiting cycle ended with 991.53 points, the highest mark in the country. Alabama, with 985.86 points, was No. 2. Three other SEC teams finished in the top 10: Texas A&M (6th, 875.10); LSU (7th, 873.66) and Florida (8th, 871.69).

Auburn (13th), Tennessee (14th), South Carolina (21st), Mississippi State (23rd), Arkansas (26th), Kentucky (27th), Ole Miss (29th), Missouri (48th) and Vanderbilt (54th) rounded out the SEC teams on the list.

Last year, Alabama finished No. 1 in the team talent composite, with Georgia coming in at No. 3. LSU, at No. 5, was the only other SEC team in the top 10.
