The way Deandre Baker sees it, others can claim they may be the best cornerback in the 2019 NFL Draft but there’s only one player that has earned that distinction. Georgia’s outstanding defensive back has some evidence to back up this claim, too.

Following Georgia’s recent Pro Day event, the NFL Network was on hand to film a segment with Baker. During the exchange, Kimberly Jones of NFL Media asked Baker to rate his stock as he continues to prepare for the NFL’s upcoming selection process.

In Baker’s mind, it’s foolish to even discuss another cornerback over him.

“I’m the number one corner in the nation. No doubt. It’s not close,” Baker said.

His words are far more than simple bravado as the junior defensive back from Athens explained his production dating back the last two seasons can’t be matched by any prospect in the draft.

“My production, my stats speak for itself. I never gave up a 100-yard game, I didn’t give up a touchdown in my two years — I only gave up one touchdown in my whole college career. No receiver really did nothing. Week in and week out, locked down the No. 1 receiver on the opposing team,” Baker continued.

“If you can find another corner with those stats we can battle this out but right now ain’t nobody messing with me.”

He makes a good point. Sorry, Greedy.
