A former Georgia standout has been placed on the NFL’s reserve/COVID-19 list.

On Wednesday, the Detroit Lions announced that quarterback Matthew Stafford has been placed on the list, which means he either tested positive for COVID-19 or is quarantining after coming in close contact to somebody else who has. That makes his status for Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings uncertain.

Stafford missed practice on Wednesday due to being placed on the list. He was also placed on it during training camp, but that ended up being due to a test that was later ruled a false positive.

Through seven games this season, Stafford has passed for 1,916 yards, 13 touchdowns and five interceptions. He just had one of his best showings of the year, as he passed for 336 yards and three touchdowns in the Lions’ win over the Indianapolis Colts this past Sunday.

Stafford is in his 12th NFL season, all of which have been in Detroit. He was selected by the Lions with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2009 draft, after he played at Georgia from 2006-08.
