It appears like Georgia’s defense will return a key cog in 2021.

The Executive Director of the Reese’s Senior Bowl Jim Nagy said on social media in a now-deleted tweet that senior defensive tackle Devonte Wyatt will return to UGA next season. Similarly, 247Sports’ Jake Rowe is also reporting that Wyatt will return next year.

Remember, seniors can return in 2021 due to the NCAA deciding against the 2020 season counting for the eligibility of any player in any sport. It’s Wyatt’s first season as a full-time starter along Kirby Smart’s defensive line.

The Bulldogs defense is one of the best the nation has to offer, and Wyatt returning in 2021 is obviously huge. In his first full season as a starter, Wyatt made 21 tackles and 9 quarterback hurries on the season.

Once Jordan Davis went down with an injury, Wyatt stepped up and played both tackle and nose guard this year.
