Dominic Lovett is headed to Georgia. On3 confirmed that the former Missouri wide receiver will be joining the Bulldogs via the transfer portal.

The 5-foot-10, 185-pound sophomore is ranked by On3 as the No. 8 overall player and No. 2 wide receiver in the transfer portal. Lovett tallied a team-best 846 receiving yards this season, which also ranked 4th in the SEC. Lovett’s best performance of this season was when he amassed 10 catches for 148 yards vs. South Carolina.

In total, the East St. Louis native has compiled 82 receptions for 1,019 yards and 3 touchdowns in his college career.

Georgia coach Kirby Smart explained his strategy with the transfer portal.

“We’ve had successful guys come from the portal, and we’ll continue to utilize the portal,” Smart said via DawgNation. “It would be foolish to think that you could be successful in college football and not evaluate and look through the portal. But you have to be smart what you bring into your program, especially if you want to keep a dynamic, the culture we like to keep.”
