If five-star 2017 OT Isaiah Wilson keeps giving quotes like these to Georgia reporters, he’s going to be a huge favorite of media members.
When asked about his recruiting process, Wilson gave DawgNation.com some incredible answers.
Wilson said his three finalists — Georgia, Alabama and Michigan — were even until the Bulldogs sprinted to the finish line to earn his pledge:
“And then slowly Bama crept ahead and then slowly Michigan evened it out and then Georgia took off like Usain Bolt and started smiling when they finished the race.”
In the end, Wilson said the Bulldogs claimed a Bolt-like margin of victory:
“It was the difference between a world record 9.56 (in the 100-meter dash) and an 11.10,” Wilson said.
After originally announcing he’d commit on New Year’s Day, he pushed the date up to Christmas before he ended up announcing on Thursday at a school assembly. Why the accelerated timetable?
“Why delay something if you know its right for you?” Wilson said. “That’s the best way I can put that. I knew and once I knew I talked to my parents and let them feel it out for themselves.”
According to 247Sports, Wilson, a massive 6-foot-7, 350-pound Brooklyn native, is the No. 7 offensive tackle in the class of 2017 and the No. 1 overall recruit from the state of New York.
