Washington’s father, Marcus Sr., was a Georgia linebacker from 2005-to-2009. Marcus Jr. was a 4-star prospect in the Class of 2022 out of Grovetown High School in Georgia. He chose the Dawgs over offers from 8 other teams.
Washington was not recruited by Louisville or new coach Jeff Brohm’s Purdue program out of high school. The Cardinals, though, have been notably active in the transfer portal and were quick to win over Washington.
In 2022, Washington made his collegiate debut in the Samford game, recording a tackle. He did not make any more appearances for the Dawgs during their repeat national championship run.
With a redshirt for 2022, Washington will have 4 remaining seasons of eligibility.
