In a somewhat surprising move prior to the 2017 season, Georgia DE/OLB Chauncey Manac announced he was transferring from the program.

He then went to Garden City Community College in Kansas for the 2017 season, where he played well enough to earn interest from other big-name programs.

On Tuesday, Manac announced he was transferring to Cincinnati to join the Bearcats program for the 2018 season:

Manac was a former 4-star recruit who redshirted last season. When he arrives in Cincinnati, he should have three years of eligibility remaining.

At Cincinnati, Manac will play for head coach Luke Fickell, who used to be on Urban Meyer’s Ohio State coaching staff.

The Bearcats finished the 2017 season with a 4-8 record, so Manac will have to help his new team rebuild. As long as he’s still as talented as he was back in 2016 when he was a highly rated recruit, he should be a key piece of the Cincy defense moving forward.
