Former Georgia RB James Cook delivers first-half hat trick on TNF
Former Georgia running back James Cook is having a career night on Thursday Night Football. And he didn’t even need the entire first half to do it!
The former Bulldog is now with the Buffalo Bills after being selected in the 2nd round of the 2022 NFL Draft. Playing his 3rd NFL season, Cook is coming off his first Pro Bowl appearance a season ago.
The Bills entered TNF and a divisional matchup against the Miami Dolphins, and it is Cook who dominated the first half. While he scored 3 touchdowns before the break, his first touchdown came via a short pass that he turned into a big score.

After adding a short rushing touchdown, Cook was back for more late in the second quarter. He took a handoff 49 yards for his third touchdown of the night to cap his hat trick.

At the break, Cook has 77 yards from scrimmage on 6 offensive touches to go with his 3 touchdowns. As a result, the Bills are up 24-10 on the road in Miami.
It is already a career-best performance for Cook in the scoring department. It is his first game ever with 2 rushing touchdowns and his first career game with 3 touchdowns. His previous best scoring output came in December last season when Cook had 221 yards of offense and a rushing and receiving touchdown.
