Former Georgia wide receiver Ladd McConkey has been on a historical path this season as a rookie, and he only added to that on Sunday when the Los Angeles Chargers traveled to Mercedes-Benz Stadium to face the Atlanta Falcons.
McConkey had already crossed the century mark by the end of the first half, quickly making himself the biggest storyline of the game. Through two quarters, McConkey totaled 105 receiving yards and 8 catches on 9 targets. He had accounted for all but 10 of the Chargers’ receiving yards.

Those 105 yards 105 yards are the most receiving yards by a Chargers rookie in the first half, going back multiple decades to 1991. Keenan Allen previously came close to the mark when he had 104 receiving yards against the Kansas City Chiefs in 2013.
McConkey entered the game with 49 receptions on 69 targets with 698 receiving yards and 4 touchdowns. One of the biggest things that have propelled him to this current level of success is the pure versatility he brings to the table as a player.
He was an essential part of the Georgia receiving game during his college career, finishing out his time in Athens with 119 receptions for 1,687 yards with 14 touchdowns.
