Georgia opened the 2021 season in a huge way, knocking off Clemson in a highly anticipated non-conference heavyweight bout. The Bulldogs’ Week 2 game likely won’t be as competitive.

On Saturday, Georgia is set to host UAB for its home opener at Sanford Stadium. It should be a great opportunity for the Bulldogs to begin the season 2-0 (even if they have to do so without starting quarterback JT Daniels).

Georgia announced its trio of captains for the matchup will be senior defensive back Christopher Smith, senior offensive lineman Jamaree Salyer and junior running back Zamir White. The Bulldogs announced that news on Twitter on Friday:

White led Georgia’s rushing attack in the 10-3 win over Clemson, as he had a team-high 74 yards on 13 carries. The Bulldogs amassed 256 yards of total offense with Salyer playing a key role up front, having started at left tackle.

Smith scored the lone touchdown of the game in Week 1, returning an interception 74 yards for a score in the second quarter.

Georgia and UAB are set to kick off on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET on ESPN2.
