No. 3 Georgia is making its final preparations for its Saturday night showdown against No. 2 Alabama at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa.

On Friday, the Bulldogs announced their captains for the game, and redshirt sophomore Azeez Ojulari, senior Monty Rice, and junior Jamaree Salyer were the trio selected this week.

Ojulari has opened the season well, recording 3.0 sacks and 5.0 tackles for a loss thus far. His TFL total matches his output a season ago, while his strip-sack last game against Tennessee, one of his 2 sacks on the day, was key in a Georgia victory.

Rice, who himself had a strip-sack—that one going for a touchdown—appears headed for yet another big year at his linebacker slot. He has 18 tackles, with 2.0 going for lost yardage—as his 89 stops in 2019 led the team.

Salyer has settled into the left tackle slot vacated by Andrew Thomas after the 2019 season. He and the rest of the Dawgs’ front five will play an important role in helping Stetson Bennett IV remain comfortable in the pocket while helping the ground game gather a little steam.

Kickoff between the Dawgs and Crimson Tide is set for 8 pm ET.
