The Deep South’s Oldest Football Rivalry will be played Saturday when the Auburn Tigers face the Georgia Bulldogs. The Bulldogs and Tigers have faced each other 125 times prior to Saturday’s game with the Bulldogs leading the series 61-56-8.
This game used to be played in November but for the second year in a row, the Tigers and Dawgs will meet in October. Last year, Georgia defeated Auburn easily, 27-6. This year might be different. Both teams come into this contest coming off victories and both have great defenses.
Auburn went to Baton Rouge and defeated LSU 24-19, and Georgia dominated Arkansas 37-0. The last time the Tigers defeated the Bulldogs was in 2017, since then, Georgia has won four straight and 9 out of the last 11 games.
Before the game, Saturday, Georgia named Devont’e Wyatt, Quay Walker, and Warren Ericson as team captains. Georgia and Auburn will kick off CBS’ double-header Saturday at 3:30 ET.
