Georgia announces team captains before SEC Championship Game against Alabama
As with every game this season, the Georgia Bulldogs name their team captains for Saturday but this Saturday is special, it’s the SEC Championship Game.
The last time Alabama faced Georgia in the SEC Championship game was in 2018 when Jalen Hurts came into that game for an injured Tua Tagovailoa to produce a come-from-behind victory to defeat the Bulldogs, 35-28.
But this year is different. Georgia comes in as the No. 1 team in the nation and maybe one of the best defenses of all time.
This is the biggest game in Kirby Smart’s career as Georgia head coach and if wants to win a national championship, he’ll first have to take out his nemesis, Nick Saban.
For this special game, Smart named four team captains Quay Walker, NaKobe Dean, James Cook, and Zamir White.
