The Georgia Bulldogs straight dominated Arkansas State 55-0 Saturday.

Yes, they were supposed to do that, but UGA’s defense was straight suffocating. It was 41-0 with 12 minutes left in the third quarter, and the Dawgs took their foot off the pedal. Georgia flashed a little bit of everything Saturday, including a sharp Jake Fromm, salty defense and speed all over the field.

Here are three takeaways from the Bulldogs’ blowout win:

Not looking ahead: Notre Dame is coming to town next week, but one wouldn’t realize that by Saturday’s game. Georgia is actually adding extra seats because ticket demand is so high. Credit Kirby Smart, the assistant coaches and the players for not looking ahead to next week.

Georgia’s defense was dominant from the get-go, and in fact, it suffocated the Red Wolves all day. It would have been easy to just show up and win 38-21 or 31-17, but UGA came in with an edge. THIS team looked like it can win a national championship. THIS team didn’t show any sort of gap between them and Alabama or Clemson.

We’ll find out next week just how good this team can be on the national stage.

Pick your poison: My goodness, Georgia has playmakers all over the offense. D’Andre Swift, James Cook, Brian Herrien and Zamir White in the backfield. Then, flip it outside to freshmen Dominick Blaylock or George Pickens or Miami transfer Lawrence Cager. Now, combine those playmakers with a veteran quarterback and the best offensive line in the nation. Only two other teams come to mind with having as much or more talent around the quarterback: Alabama and Clemson. Cook, Herrien, White and Blaylock all scored touchdowns.

Comfortable Fromm: Georgia’s offensive general is Jake Fromm. His experience is something his teammates will lean on next week. But now, however, he’s starting to get comfortable with the cast around him. Fromm finished 17-of-22 for 279 yards and three touchdowns. He hit Dominick Blaylock, Lawrence Cager and D’Andre Smith on touchdown passes.

The cohesiveness is starting to come together for Fromm and the supporting cast.

Georgia will face Notre Dame next week, and kickoff is set for 8:00 p.m. ET from Sanford Stadium. The game will be televised on CBS Sports.
