Georgia basketball beats Kentucky 63-62 on late score from P.J. Horne
Georgia basketball’s 14-game losing streak to Kentucky has been snapped.
The Bulldogs were trailing Kentucky 62-61 when they inbounded the ball with 3.6 seconds left. PJ Horne bobbled the pass but recovered to get off the go-ahead basket. With only 1.6 seconds left, the Wildcats tried a long shot that didn’t go in.
The SEC Network shared how the final 3.6 seconds went down in Athens:

John Calipari’s squad is struggling this season, but beating Kentucky – regardless of record – is still a big victory for Tom Crean’s hoops program.
The SEC Network broadcast recognized Horne as the player of the game, though it was senior forward Andrew Garcia who led UGA in scoring with 16 points in the win.
UGA improves to 9-4 while UK falls to 4-9 on the 2020-21 season. The Dawgs will look to keep the momentum going in a Saturday matchup against Florida.
UK is better at disrespecting our country, flag, and vets than they are playing basketball.
Such a big man judging kids for speaking out against the injustices in the country they live, only to tie it into some basketball game. Coward.
People hate to feel as though college players have beliefs and ideas, too. To a lot of these folks, they’re just entertainment. It’s sad to see. We live in a free country, they’re allowed to express their opinions.
Uh, mostly it’s people hear stupid kids talking about something they seem to know nothing about since they’re only parroting talking points they hear on television. Talking about the “systemic injustices” of our country yet being unable to defend their opinions when scrutinized by discerning voices.
People don’t hate for college kids to have an opinion. That’s preposterous. People are (rightly) tired of the over-politicization of everything. Of course athletes are allowed to express their opinion just as spectators are allowed either to be tired of hearing their opinion or encouraged by their opinion. Just because you have the right to express yourself doesn’t mean other people have to be forced to (1) listen to that expression or (2) celebrate the fact that a right was exercised.
Kentucky sure does stink this year.
So does anyone know when the spring football game is scheduled?
UGA beats Kentucky! And we thought 2020 was weird.
That game was ugly to the say the least but an ugly win is a win. Go Dawgs!
Probably due for a few SEC losses. 2 game winning streak is too much.
SEC is some ugly ball this year.
Always good to get an SEC win, though beating UK this year doesn’t quite mean what it usually does.
1 and 14 in the last 15 games for the roundball humpers, eh? Good for them. That’s just one win less than the ovalsphere wildkittens have in the last 15 football games…
