Georgia is preparing for a tough matchup against heated rival Alabama in Week 5.

During Monday’s practice at the Woodruff Practice Fields, the Bulldogs were reportedly jamming out to “Sweet Home Alabama,” the classic Lynyrd Skynyrd song. Of course, the game is in Alabama this weekend, meaning this is smart preparation considering the song will be blasted on Saturday in Bryant-Denny Stadium.

The Bulldogs will surely do everything they can to prepare for this rivalry matchup.

Entering the game, both teams are 3-0 and are coming off of a bye. The Bulldogs have 1 SEC win, against Kentucky, while Alabama has yet to play a conference game. ESPN’s Football Power Index currently gives the Tide a 65.6% chance to come away with a home victory.

Even with the expanded College Football Playoff, this game could still have postseason implications. Also, this will be the first time since 2007 that the Bulldogs have played in Tuscaloosa with a full crowd in attendance. The last time the Bulldogs went to Tuscaloosa was in 2020 during Covid-19.

Any time these teams play, it’s guaranteed to be a classic. The old rivals played in the SEC Championship Game in 2012, 2018, 2021, and 2023, and played in the College Football National Championship in 2018 and 2022.

This game on Saturday will have even more eyes than normal. Per reports, former President Donald Trump intends to be at the game. The rivals will kick off from Bryant-Denny Stadium at 7-30 p.m. ET.
