One school, perhaps a certain SEC East program, may soon be landing one of the top transfer quarterbacks on the market. According to college football insider Bruce Feldman, Wake Forest transfer QB Jamie Newman may make his college decision by Saturday.

Judging by 247Sports’ Crystal Balls, Newman is likely heading to Georgia. Three 247Sports analysts have submitted Crystal Ball predictions for where Newman will land and all three are for the Bulldogs.

With Jake Fromm’s departure for the upcoming 2020 NFL Draft and UGA’s current QB depth cart lacking experience, a transfer to Athens makes a lot of sense for Newman. As a graduate transfer, he has immediate eligibility for the 2020 season and would likely be the frontrunner to win the starting job.

Newman was 220-of-361 passing (60.9 completion percentage) for 2,868 yards with 26 touchdowns and 11 interceptions in 2019. A dual-threat quarterback, he also added another 574 rushing yards and six touchdowns for Wake Forest this past season.
