Georgia getting rave reviews following new uniform reveal but rival SEC fans calling out 1 detail of Bulldog jerseys
If you missed it, Georgia revealed some new football uniforms for the upcoming season.
The new-look from the Bulldogs is getting mostly rave reviews from not only Dawg Nation but many other fan bases from around the SEC.
Among the updated looks for Georgia is an alternate black uniform, although it remains unclear whether the Bulldogs plan to even wear these in a game or if they will be used strictly for recruiting purposes.
The fact they featured the black uniform in a promo suggests they will be used in a game but Kirby Smart has also expressed he’s not a big fan of the look in the past.
Either way, one aspect of Georgia’s black uniform that jumps out is the spiked dog collar around the neck of the jersey.
Check it out below:

Apparently, rival fans did not agree with that assessment.
Here are a few of the better responses to that tweet:

I honestly thought these were a bad fan photoshop concept until I realized someone had retweeted the actual Georgia account. https://t.co/wj050O6LCv

Whatever to the haters. I’m loving all 3 jerseys.
I don’t want to hear from any Florida fans about the collar after their gator skin jerseys from a few years ago.
Have you heard from any Florida fans about the collar or is this just preemptive? As long as UGA players and fans like it, what difference does a Florida fan’s opinion make?
Oh yeah it’s all over twitter. There’s just a saying about glass houses and stones
LMAO…. As if UGA fans have any room to talk about anything…
Oh I forgot, it only applies to non UGA fans….
Get your dang panties out of a wad, BamaTime. This is just a joke. In this specific instance, I don;t want to hear from Florida fans about how ugly the collar is when they put out those gator skin jerseys. I’m gonna have to ask you to reach behind yourself. see if there is any of the stick still poking out from between your cheeks, and pull, slowly please, you have to be careful, until it is entirely removed. And you can also go ahead and remove yourself from this conversation. We are taking about Jersey alterations and I haven’t seen one from holier-than-thou Bama.
Did I hurt your feelings? UGA fans sure love to talk trash but can’t take any trash talk in return..
I have an idea… When UGA fans stick to the article topics or to articles about their team I’ll do the same… Until then cry us a river…
When did I deviate from the topic? What you’re doing isn’t talking trash, it’s just trolling. You’re the ONLY one who got upset by my comment where you had to come here and insert yourself in a conversation that was doing just fine without you. I suggest you try to stick where you’re needed and before you try to point to UGA fans needing to do the same, nope, this is ME and YOU. I’m not here to represent UGA fans as I’m sure you’re not here to represent your fellow cousin kissing, dentist dodgers, oops, I mean Bama fans. YOU need to check yourself before you come around trying the same old garbage you always do.
It wasn’t just jerseys. They had matching pants. It was a stealth pattern that pretty much disappeared on TV. I sincerely hope I never see it again.
It was god-awful, it really was, very hard to watch on TV. I am a fan of Florida’s original Jersey’s, they are top 5 in all of college football if you ask me. And If there’s any alteration. I really like the white helmet look with it. Very clean.
As a Bama alum, Georgia can wear black jersey’s anytime they want. Our returned to dominance started with that look. Thanks.
I was gonna say, I’m sure Bama would be happy to wear their whites at home this year so UGA could wear the black.
Keep the jerseys like they are, people these days look for hidden reasons to not like something. Screw ’em.
Uniforms come and go like the wind, but the most pressing issue–player’s numbers–continues to be neglected. I’ve asked before and ask again now, what’s wrong with #54, or #62?
Not a fan of these “alternate” uniforms, from any SEC teams. You have school colors, wear them and be proud. Gimmicky uniforms aren’t going to help win any games.
Snapshot…yes I recall those Tennessee gray uniforms. I prefer the traditional uniforms also.
Those smoky gray uniforms were incredible in my opinion. Muted that terrible orange color.
They did ask me for my opinion, I would have rejected the Grays if they would have.
See, that’s the problem. UGA’s colors are red and BLACK. The black is heavily present in the other athletic uniforms, but not football. It seems half the schools in America want to go with a sleek black look in alternate football uniforms when black is not their school color, yet we are one of the few FBS schools with black as one of the two official colors and it’s not used much in the uniform.
The kids badly want to wear it. BADLY. It’s a highlight during recruiting visits – having your promo shots taken in the black uni. Let them wear it in games.
I really like the new ( 1980 old-look ) uniforms. The black jerseys are the best looking alternate jersey in CFB, and many recruits agree.
My only gripe is the white stripe on the red pants, I just think it’s too wide. Overall I love the look.
As a Dawg fan I like the uniforms but I have that same gripe. The collar with spikes was not a good call.
I love the spiked collar on the black jersey. If you’re going to bark like a Dawg, might as well take it all the way!
I’m totally shocked that Michael Bratton went out of his way to compile rival fans’ (mostly Vol fans) disparaging remarks on UGA’s new uniforms and compile into an “article”.
