Demetris Roberston appears to be on the move again. Multiple outlets, including AL.com, are reporting that the former 5-star recruit has entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal.

Coming out of Savannah Christian Prep, Robertson was rated 5-stars, the No. 1 wide receiver and No. 13 prospect overall nationally in the class of 2016 on the 247Sports Composite. Robertson signed with Cal. After two seasons in Berkely, Roberston transferred back to his home state to play for Kirby Smart’s Bulldogs.

Robertson appeared in 32 games for UGA over the past three seasons. He did not register a catch in 2018 but logged 42 receptions for 443 yards and 3 touchdowns the past two seasons. The TD catches were all made during the 2019 campaign. Robertson had a rushing score in 2018.

Robertson’s Georgia bio lists his career highs. Only one career-high, a long-rush of 72 yards against Austin Peay in 2018, came during his time in Athens. Robertson’s other career-highs all came in 2016 at Cal.

Entering the NCAA transfer portal does not bind a player to leave the program, however, cases of SEC players withdrawing from the portal and returning to the team are becoming increasingly rare.
