The Georgia Bulldogs recently signed a deal to open the 2022 season against the Oregon Ducks, but fans have been anxiously awaiting a series against Clemson.

That deal was finalized on Friday, with reports saying the game will be the opener for the 2024 season in Atlanta.

The Athletic’s Seth Emerson tweeted the details on Friday morning, as you can see below:

Per a report from AJC.com, the game will be held on Aug. 31, 2024 and will be part of the Chick-fil-A Kickoff festivities at Mercedes-Benz Stadium:

“We think it’s going to be a tremendous blockbuster game,” said Gary Stokan, president and CEO of Peach Bowl Inc., which operates the annual Chick-fil-A Kickoff.

Whether or not the Bulldogs and Tigers play more in the future remains to be seen, but this should be a huge game for both schools.
