Nazir Stackhouse is getting comfortable in his new role as a full-time starter.

Stackhouse’s role isn’t one where he’ll get a lot of gaudy numbers on the stat sheet. The 6-foot-3, 320-pound interior lineman is there to take up space and take on additional blockers so his teammates can force neagtive plays.

Head coach Kirby Smart is happy with what he’s seem so far.

Stackhouse was a 4-star prospect coming out of Columbia High School in Decatur, Georgia. On a unit full of 5-star talent and top 100 national prospects, Stackhouse was ranked 249th nationally according to 247Sports Composite rankings.

Smart is clearly pleased with Stackhouse’s work ethic and ascension from scout team as a freshman to a starting role as a junior. He has paid his dues and is being rewarded for them. On any team, especially a championship team, there are always a few unsung heroes. Stackhouse might be one for the Bulldogs this year.
