Georgia fans irate K Rodrigo Blankenship didn't get a chance to kick game-winning FG
Georgia fans were upset at the end of regulation against South Carolina when the offense remained on the field for the last play.
Yes, it would have been nearly a 60-yard field goal attempt, but Georgia K Rodrigo “Hot Rod” Blankenship is one of the best kickers in the country. Fans at the stadium booed the decision heartily, and fans on social media were just as upset.
As you can see below, many ripped the decision via Twitter:

Hot Rod just got screwed.

How do you not give Hot Rod the opportunity to kick there? Guy has been the only consistent player on the team this year

Ayy man. You have to let Hot Rod kick that :(

If we lose this game, after all the mistakes we’ve made, it’s now 100% on coaching. 8 seconds left in Hot Rod range and you elect to keep running the offense out, get a delay of game. I just can’t.

Should’ve kicked for the FG or at least gave Hot Rod a chance to win the game. Smh.

On the broadcast, it was noted that coach Kirby Smart was on the sideline for the infamous Kick Six game that Auburn won over Alabama, so perhaps that influenced his decision. Still, fans were not happy.
