Julian Humphrey committed to Florida 6 months ago, but Kirby Smart and Georgia didn’t give up recruiting him, and on Friday, the elite cornerback out of Texas flipped to the Bulldogs.

Humphrey is from Houston (Clear Lake) and is rated a 4-star cornerback, and the No. 12 player at his position in the country, as well as being the No. 17 player in the state of Texas, according to the 247Sports Composite. Humphrey listed finalists as Florida, LSU and Texas A&M, and he announced on CBS Sports HQ. He holds a reported 32 offers.

“I felt like Georgia, with all the experience the coaches have, could take me to the next level,” said Humphrey of his decision.

He also added, “Georgia is DBU. I think they had (four) DBs drafted last year, that’s like a record. Once I seen that, that clicked instantly, they must be doing something different from all those other schools. I’m like ok that’s something I would love to be part of for sure, be developed like those guys.”

Georgia flipped a previous Florida wide receiver commitment earlier this week in 4-star 2023 WR Raymond Cottrell.
