Georgia has landed a commitment from Alpharetta (Ga.) High tight end Ethan Barbour.

The 6-foot-3, 235-pound tight end is a 4-star recruit in the Class of 2025. He picked the Bulldogs over Auburn, South Carolina, Alabama, and Ohio State. And in doing so, he becomes the seventh known commitment for Georgia in the 2025 cycle.

Barbour took an unofficial to Georgia on Sept. 9. A week later, he took an unofficial to Auburn. The Bulldogs won out in a head-to-head, with Barbour telling On3’s Hayes Fawcett he felt Georgia could help him become “the best tight end in the nation.”

As a sophomore last season, Barbour brought in 51 receptions for 714 yards and 12 touchdowns in 12 games. At 6-foot-3, it looks like he has a frame that can continue adding good weight without compromising his mobility.

In the industry-generated 247 Composite, Barbour is ranked as the No. 4 tight end and the No. 21 prospect from the state of Georgia. Overall, he’s the No. 179 recruit in the national player rankings.

247Sports’ Andrew Ivins wrote this on his game:

A pass-catching tight end prospect that can get the job done as a move blocker. Not the biggest individual having measured roughly 6-foot-3, 235 pounds multiple times, but won’t turn 18 years old until he’s in college should he enroll early, meaning that the body is still likely growing. Makes his money up the seam and over the middle. Plucks the football like a natural and can quickly make in-air adjustments, if needed. Adequate speed and a little wiggle allow him to pick up yardage after the catch.
