Georgia linebacker Xavian Sorey Jr. has entered the transfer portal.

The 6-foot-3 inside ‘backer spent three seasons with the Bulldogs. After taking a redshirt his first year, Sorey will have two years of eligibility remaining.

“I am immensely proud to have been a part of the University of Georgia Bulldog family for the past three years,” Sorey wrote on Instagram. “I have had the opportunity to learn from some of the best coaches, played with the best players, and been supported by the best fan base in college football. And though I will forever cherish the magic Between the Hedges, I have decided to enter the transfer portal.”

Sorey was a major recruiting win for the Bulldogs. In the 2021 cycle, the industry-generated 247 Composite had Sorey rated as a 5-star prospect and the No. 2 linebacker in the country. He initially picked the Dawgs over Alabama and Florida.

He played in two games as a true freshman and then made 12 appearances as a redshirt freshman in 2022. He did not see the field this season for Georgia and will depart Athens with three career tackles.

Sorey is the 10th known Bulldog to enter the transfer portal since the new window opened.
