No. 4 Georgia announced its captains for its season opener against Arkansas at Razorback Stadium on Saturday. Seniors Malik Herring and Richard LeCounte, along with junior Jamaree Salyer, will get the honor during the Week 1 matchup.

Herring, who has appeared in all but 2 games since arriving at Georgia as a freshman in 2017, started 9 games for the Bulldogs last season. The defensive end notched 26 tackles—including a career-high-tying 5 against Baylor in the Sugar Bowl—and added 18 quarterback hurries.

LeCounte found himself on several preseason watch lists heading into 2020, most notably for the Bednarik Award, given annually to the best defensive player in college football. The safety recorded 61 tackles and picked off 4 passes in 2019.

Salyer, an Atlanta native, is the presumptive starter at right tackle in place of former Bulldogs star Isaiah Wilson. Through his first 2 seasons, he has played in 26 games, including a pair of starts against Murray State and Baylor.

The Bulldogs and Razorbacks kick off at 4pm ET on SEC Network.
