Georgia dropped its captains for Saturday’s SEC Championship Game showdown with Alabama, a rematch of 2021.

It’ll be Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint, Javon Bullard, Kamari Lassiter, and Sedrick Van Pran representing the Bulldogs on the field in Atlanta.

The stakes are high for the SEC title bout between the Bulldogs and Crimson Tide. A Georgia win would secure a spot in the College Football Playoff, while knocking out Alabama. However, if Georgia loses, then it opens the door for teams like Alabama or Texas to have a shot of making the Playoff.

Kirby Smart is still looking for that first win over Nick Saban in the SEC title game. Georgia has not beaten the Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship under Smart, with Saban at 3-0 against the Bulldogs in Atlanta.

The teams last met during the 2021 season for 2 championship bouts. Alabama won the SEC Championship Game, but the Bulldogs won the rematch in the CFP National Championship.

Kickoff from Atlanta will be at 4 p.m. ET, airing on CBS.
