Four-star QB prospect Joey Gatewood has been committed to Auburn since Dec. 5, 2015, but that’s not stopping other schools from trying to get him to back off that pledge. Texas and Oregon are two of the most recent schools to offer, and on Thursday was added to that list Thursday.

The recent stream of offers is almost certainly due to the departure of offensive coordinator Rhett Lashlee, Gatewood’s primary recruiter, who left to take the same position at UConn. Auburn has not yet filled the offensive coordinator position.

Georgia does not have a quarterback committed for 2018. The Bulldogs were in on No. 1 overall Trevor Lawrence, who committed to Clemson.

Gatewood, a product of Bartram Trail (Jacksonville, Fla.) is rated the No. 51 overall recruit, No. 3 dual-threat quarterback and No. 13 Florida prospect by the 247Sports Composite. His highlights can be viewed below:
