Georgia reached into Alabama to snag its second wide receiver commitment of the 2021 class as it landed Jackson Meeks of Phenix City (Central).

Meeks is a 6-foot-2 and 190-pound prospect, and listed as a 3-star recruit by the 247Sports Composite rankings. He is ranked the No. 60 player in Alabama, and the No. 222 wide receiver recruit in the 2021 class. He reportedly picked Georgia over Ole Miss and West Virginia among others.

Meeks is the second wide receiver to commit to Georgia in this cycle, and it gives the Bulldogs 16 commits. They were ranked No. 5 in the SEC, and No. 11 in the country by 247Sports before Meeks’ addition.

Dawgs247 reported that Meeks, “burst on the scene a few weeks back after sitting out his sophomore year and wearing a brace on his knee during his junior season while still recovering from the knee injury. Finally healthy, Meeks showed his full potential in the season opener and it caught the eyes of the UGA staff with a quick offer.”

Meeks caught 13 passes for 233 yards and three touchdowns against national power Hoover High School. Georgia wide receivers’ coach Cortez Hankton made the offer the following Monday.

“It was a blessing to get that offer,” Meeks told Dawgs247. “I like Georgia, always have, and it is a good fit for me.”
