Georgia releases Heisman-like hype video to promote Jake Fromm
It’s no secret that QB Jake Fromm has been instrumental in Georgia’s recent success, and that was a storyline last week of ESPN’s coverage of the Bulldogs in their win over Tennessee. ESPN’s Sean McDonough and Todd Blackledge even discussed Fromm as possibly the best QB in Georgia’s history.
McDonough noted that Fromm is the most accurate passer in Georgia history, and in a video distributed by the program’s Twitter account, it noted that he has the fourth-most touchdown passes in school history.
Against the Vols in a 43-14 victory, Fromm was 24-for-29 passing for 288 yards and 2 touchdown passes.
Without mentioning the honor, the video took on the feel of a Heisman Trophy-like hype video.
Will Muschamp, the coach of Georgia’s opponent this week, South Carolina, has taken note of Fromm’s production and experience.
“His overall command of what they do, he is an extension of what they want done as coaches,” Muschamp said this week on the SEC coaches media teleconference. “He gets them in the right protection, he goes to the right place and he’s very accurate … he does a fantastic job. I hate to use the word “manage” because the way some people look at that but he does a great job of managing that offense.”

Never gunna happen and that’s ok, just keep winning.
Jake Fromm is PFF’s highest rated CFB QB this season.
Not Tua. Not Burrow. Not Hurts. And certainly not Fields.
Jake. Effing. Fromm. I’d paste the link here, but SDS’s commenting boards don’t allow for it.
Just got to pff-dot-com to see for yourself.
That makes sense because UGA’s scheme is to play defense and run, which allows him to not even have to attempt many unsafe throws. Coincidentally, UGA’s scheme is precisely the reason that UGA can’t close out big games when it matters against Bama. Personally, I think if they would let Fromm loose, that would give them the best shot to win a natty.
See, the backhanded compliment you try to give is actually provably false.
The idea that every throw is a safe throw is a myth disproven by the actual stats.
Fromm’s average yards per attempt places him right in range with everyone, including Tua, not named Jalen Hurts, who’s 14 YP/A is insane.
He’s not simply making check downs. He’s making the same big time throws everyone else is.
No backhanded compliment towards Fromm, only a compliment. The backhand goes to the UGA coaching staff, for not unleashing the beast.
Pesky stats, Tua is averaging 7.4 more throws per game. Burrow is even higher than that. Fromm’s yards per attempt is so high because that offense will only ask him to throw back shoulder throws and other widely open passes.
I never said he was simply making check downs. Just not having to make any difficult/dangerous downfield throws.
He is not making the same big time throws that everyone else is. He is not even asked to attempt them. You can keep telling yourself that, but until CKS takes the handcuffs off of him, it just isn’t so. The Notre Dame game should tell you everything that you need to know regarding this subject. UGA is three touchdowns better than the Irish, and everyone knows it.
You don’t seem to understand how statistics work.
He IS making exactly the same big time big time throws everyone else is making.
That’s why Yards Per Attempt is used instead of Yards Per Completion. Yards Per Attempt shows the actual throws the QB is making, not just completing. That Fromm is completing those big time throws at a 77% clip is the cherry on the sundae.
You’re right the coaches don’t have Fromm make the same number of attempts, but when they ask him to throw the ball, they’re all big time throws. That’s why his Yards Per Attempt is as high as anyone’s.
The Georgia offense, for good or for ill, is what it is. It’s a run first offense. But it does ask its QB to make throws down the field when he does throw. The proof is in the stats. You can keep believing the b.s. myths if you want, but Fromm’s performance in last year’s SEC Title Game bears that out. It was the best performance by a QB against Bama’s defense since the 2016 National Championship Game in January 2017. That Lawrence eclipsed it a week later is beside the point.
At this point UGA/Fromm is hampered by inexperienced at the WR position. If they Bama’s corp, well……
My man, distance of the ball in the air does not determine whether it is a big time throw or not. The proof that Fromm can be elite is in the SEC champ game, I completely agree. And when they go away from Fromm, they lose those games. Again, I am not dishing on Fromm, I am dishing on the coaches. I didn’t say that he can’t make the throws, just that they don’t let him.
No. It doesn’t make sense at all. I just checked the PFF ratings, which were posted October 9. Fromm is #6 and rated behind ALL the QBs that he just named. (Even Fields.)
He’s within a yard in YPA of all them. Which is what I said.
You said…

He said you’re full of $hit… So did you not say what I quoted?
I’m with you Corch.
Confirmed from PFF article “Georgia’s Jake Fromm has turned the narrative around, leads all college quarterbacks in overall grade through six weeks”
If you were to look at the statistical leaders at the quarterback position through six weeks of the 2019 college football season, you wouldn’t be shocked to see Oklahoma’s Jalen Hurts (No. 1 in yards per attempt and second in QB rushing yards), LSU’s Joe Burrow (No. 1 in completion percentage and second in passing yards), Ohio State’s Justin Fields (No. 1 in total touchdowns), or Alabama’s Tua Tagovailoa (No. 1 in passing touchdowns). And while all these players have impressed in their own individual way, none of them currently hold the distinction of being college football’s highest-graded quarterback. That title, in fact, belongs to a signal-caller whose traditional statistics might not wow you or put him in the Heisman discussion. Through six weeks of the season, the highest-graded quarterback in college football is none other than Georgia’s Jake Fromm…
I just did.
1. LSU: JOE BURROW
2. OKLAHOMA: JALEN HURTS
3. ALABAMA: TUA TAGOVAILOA
4. OHIO STATE: JUSTIN FIELDS
5. TEXAS: SAM EHLINGER
6. GEORGIA: JAKE FROMM
Also if you check the NCAA passer rating:
Fromm is #9. (Fields is #6).
You are past comedy at this point. But hey, you are still waiting on Florida to melt down aren’t you?
He’s the highest graded QB by PFF in all of CFB, fan of team that’s really not the Buffaloes. Guessing you’re a ‘turd.
The article is there to find on PFF easy enough.
Uh unaffil, May want to do a reboot…Georgia’s Jake Fromm has turned the narrative around, leads all college quarterbacks in overall grade through six weeks
Florida will melt down. But just in case, please keep the Tony Chacheres Creaole seasoning close by…I hear it’s great on crow…
Fromm has one shot at the Heisman: beating Alabama in the SECCG. If that happens, he has a real chance. If it doesn’t happen, there really is no rationale for his candidacy.
