There’s hardly a question now that Georgia is shaping up to be college football’s next dynasty team as the team pursues its 3rd consecutive national championship victory and Alabama continues its fall from glory, showing trouble holding off lower-level competition like USF at the top of the season.

In addition to the stellar product the Bulldogs have put out on the field, their success is just as well reflected by the numbers. Georgia currently holds the longest streak for consecutive road game wins in the nation with a total of 11-straight victories away from home.

The gap between the pair of teams behind the Bulldogs is notable, with TCU (the same team the Dawgs most recently faced for the national title) coming in at second with a total of 7 road wins, while the reigning ACC champion Tulane is close behind with 6 consecutive road victories.

The current longest winning streak in the history of college football was held by the Washington Huskies from 1908 to 1915 with a total of 59 back-to-back road victories. It’s hard to see a scenario in which that is ever challenged, especially in a new era of college football.

It will be interesting to watch just how long Georgia holds onto its dominance and if — home and away — it can challenge the all-time highest winning streak by a current SEC team held by the 1978-1980 Alabama team (28 games).
