Georgia offensive lineman Griffin Scroggs is entering the transfer portal, according to a report from On3’s Matt Zenitz.

The 6-foot-3, 315-pound Scroggs signed with the Bulldogs out of the 2022 class. He was a 3-star prospect and was selected to play in the All-American Bowl. As a freshman last season, he did not appear in a game.

Scroggs enrolled early last year, but offseason shoulder surgery kept him sidelined for spring ball. And with Sedrick Van Pran performing like an iron man for Georgia, there was limited action available to Scroggs.

Van Pran returns for the 2023 season, as does backup center Austin Blaske. Georgia also brings back its starting guards from last year’s team; Scroggs was looking at an uphill battle to playing time for the defending champs.

A Grayson native, Scroggs was initially a Georgia Tech commit in the 2022 class. He also held Power 5 offers from Tennessee, Kansas, and Iowa State.

Scroggs becomes the fourth Bulldog to enter the portal this spring, joining inside linebacker Rian Davis, defensive tackle Bear Alexander, and defensive lineman Shone Washington.
