Georgia rushes 3 on 3rd and long, still manages sack of DJ Uiagalelei

Georgia has an elite defense. That was known coming into the 2021 season.
But, the Bulldogs were still impressive on their first drive against the Clemson offense on Saturday night in Charlotte.
Facing a 3rd-and-8, Georgia dropped 8 defenders into coverage. But, as you can see below, that didn’t stop Nolan Smith from picking up the sack against Clemson QB DJ Uiagalelei:

Yes, the Georgia defensive backfield deserves a ton of credit for forcing Uiagalelei to hold onto the ball, but that’s a heck of an individual effort from Smith, too.
This has been a defensive battle from the get-go. We’ll see which offense is able to make a big play first.
