In a day without a top 25 matchup between a pair of ranked teams, it felt like there were going to be teams primed for an upset. We already saw one upset on Saturday, as the Missouri Tigers upset No. 15 Kansas State, 30-27, on a 61-yard walk-off kick by Harrison Mevis.

In the first half, it looked like South Carolina may be pulling off an even bigger upset, as it led No. 1 Georgia on the road, 14-3. The Bulldogs offense couldn’t get anything going, as the Gamecocks did a terrific job of getting off the field.

However, the Bulldogs came out firing in the second half, and scored touchdowns on their first 2 possessions to take a 17-14 lead.

The defense of the Bulldogs has picked things up as well in the second half, as they had 2 sacks in the 3rd quarter alone. They have 3 on the day, but this is a big step up as Georgia had only 1 sack in the first 2 games of the season.

The Gamecocks drove into Georgia territory with a chance to tie the game, but 1 of those sacks took South Carolina out of field goal position and made the Gamecocks\ punt.

Georgia missed a field goal to start the 4th quarter as the lead stood at 17-14.
