The Georgia Bulldogs got off to another slow start on Saturday against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.

The Bulldogs forced a punt on the Yellow Jackets’ 1st possession. However, the Bulldogs did not capitalize as Daijun Edwards fumbled on the 1st play of the drive.

The Yellow Jackets recovered and went on a 4-play scoring drive to make it 7-0.

The Dawgs are no stranger to having their opponent score the 1st points of the game, as they trailed early against Auburn and South Carolina. However, the Bulldogs bounced back again.

The Bulldogs answered the Jackets’ scoring drive with a 9-play, 83 yard scoring drive of their own. Carson Beck found Dominic Lovett in the end zone for a 29-yard TD to tie the game at 7.

The Jackets answered by driving down the field and getting a field goal. At the end of the 1st quarter, the Jackets had a 10-7 lead over the Bulldogs.

Georgia took its first lead of the game with 12:40 left in the 2nd quarter when Kendall Milton rumbled into the end zone.

Slow starts have been commonplace for the Dawgs. However, the team has usually been able to get get it going before things get out of hand. The Bulldogs are looking at a matchup against the Alabama Crimson Tide next weekend for the SEC Championship. Against a team like Alabama, a slow start may doom the Dawgs’ chances.
