USF has hired away a former Georgia off-field staffer to an on-field role. Jules Montinar will be the cornerbacks coach for the Bulls under new head coach Jeff Scott. He spent the 2019 season as a defensive quality control assistant on Kirby Smart’s staff.
“We are excited to welcome Jules and his family to the Bulls family,” Scott said. “He is a Florida native with a great track record of recruiting the state and has worked with and learned from some of the best defenses in college football over his career. He will do a fantastic job leading our cornerbacks.”
Montinar and Smart previously worked together at Alabama. Montinar was a graduate assistant working with the Crimson Tide defense while Smart was UA’s defensive coordinator. Montinar’s stops between Alabama and Georgia included James Madison (2014-15) and Texas State (2016-18).
