Georgia took full advantage of its SEC Championship season and carried that momentum over to recruiting in landing the nation’s No. 1 recruiting class for the 2018 cycle. Several of the prospects signed by the Bulldogs this offseason are just now arriving in Athens and being assigned their first jersey numbers for the summer.

Among those players is tight end Luke Ford, the nation’s No. 3 prospect at his position and the No. 51 overall recruit from the 2018 recruiting cycle according to 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Ford took to Twitter on Friday to announce his arrival in Athens and was quickly asked what jersey number he would be wearing for the Dawgs. According to Ford, his jersey number will be 45.

Don’t be surprised if you see No. 45 making plays early in his Georgia career this fall. While the number may be a new one for many fans, it’s one that’s worth remembering now before Ford makes his impact on the offense in Athens for years to come.
