Georgia Tech's chances of stopping Nick Chubb don't look good
The natural question for any Georgia Tech opponent: how are you going to stop the triple-option offense?
For the Georgia-Georgia Tech game, while the Bulldogs will have to worry about the GT’s run offense, the more pressing question may pertain to how the Yellow Jackets will contain true freshman Nick Chubb.
Georgia Tech’s run defense won’t blow anybody away. The Yellow Jackets are 10th in the ACC in run defense and 71st nationally (165.5 ypg). They have allowed less than 100 rushing yards in a game only twice this season and that was just against Tulane and Virginia, two teams ranked in the lower half of the country in rushing offense.

Now that Gurley is officially done for the season, it’s a safe bet for Chubb to get a majority of the carries — and he’s earned it, running for 918 yards and nine touchdowns since getting the starting job back on Oct. 11.
Some have argued that Chubb is even better than Gurley, despite being two years younger. Gurley still gets the edge considering his consistent production over the past three seasons, but Chubb’s early returns show he’s on pace to be even better.
GT never did a great job of containing Gurley in the past. The Tarboro, N.C., native rushed for a combined 219 yards and five touchdowns in just two games. This bodes well for Chubb, who has been just as dominant as Gurley.
Frankly, at this point you almost expect big games from Chubb every single week. No defense has been able to stop him yet, even the Florida Gators who defeated Georgia 38-20. The true freshman still racked up more than 200 total yards of offense in a loss.

You can bet the ‘Dawgs will feed Chubb the ball early and often. All of the numbers indicate he’s in line for another big performance, and if that does happen, you can book a fourth straight win for Georgia in “Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate.”
