Georgia vs. Oregon: ESPN assigns broadcasting crew for Atlanta season opener, per report
Georgia and Oregon will kick off the season in Atlanta, and now there’s a report of which broadcasting crew will call the game.
The news comes from sports media Twitter account Fake Rudy Martzke, who reported that Sean McDonough, Todd Blackledge and Molly McGrath will be on the call for ESPN. The game is set 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, Sept. 3, in the Mercedes-Benz Stadium. This game will be the Bulldogs’ third appearance in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game.
Around the Dial: ESPN will have the astute Sean McDonough, Todd Blackledge, and Molly McGrath on the call for the Chick-fil-A kickoff from Atlanta in Week 1 for the much anticipated matchup between Oregon/Georgia.

This will be the second meeting between the programs. The previous meeting resulted in a 27-16 home win for the Bulldogs in 1977.
In earlier games, the Bulldogs previously defeated North Carolina 33-24 in the 2016 and fell 35-21 to Boise State in 2011. Georgia was scheduled to face off against Virginia to open the 2020 season in Atlanta, but the matchup was canceled because of the pandemic.
The most obvious storyline of the game will be that the Ducks are coached by former Georgia defensive coordinator Dan Lanning, and both coaches have said they began scouting each other for months.
Ouch. That Boise State game is pretty much the moment I started realizing that our beloved Mark Richt would never be able to get us over the hump. Who could have thought back to back to back to back 10-2 seasons could be so dissatisfying.
I agree, expectations are hard to meet.
If the Ducks traveled to Georgia in the first match up, fair-play requires Georgia to play at Oregon in this meeting. This stinks up the match up 2022
Calm down Scooter. Games like this are played every season.
Wolfman…….This meeting is in Atlanta not Athens!!!! You might not believe me, but I would prefer playing in Oregon over Atlanta!!!
But why do you even care??? You are all SEC like the rest of us right??? You wouldn’t be rooting against Georgia would you??? If so, why??? Win or lose it doesn’t help Missouri in any way!!!!!
The ducks probably have a better shot in Atlanta over Oregon!!!! But if the dawgs play their game, it ain’t gonna matter!!!! And the ducks have been good recently. They have only been short a true all American type QB maybe!!!
Bo Nix was a 5 star with his entire career in the SEC!!! I’m betting he will be an all American at Oregon!!! He might not be the first game though!!! We will see!!!! I’m betting both he and JT Daniels light it up over the season!!!!!
PS. Provided they both stay healthy!!!!

What are you talking about? This isn’t some home and home series that was negotiated 45 years ago. Try to focus here. Oregon
and Georgia scheduled a single game in Athens almost a half century ago. A few years ago, they agreed to another for this year in Atlanta. The two were scheduled independently of each other. And both teams agreed to it. There is nothing unfair. It is what they all agreed to.
Mr Covington. Georgia fans would do well to follow your lead Sir.
I think you don’t understand the idea behind Kickoff games. They’re all played in the South or Texas. No one forced Oregon to accept the invite. It’s about exposure and recruiting, and they jumped at the opportunity to get their brand in a high-profile game in the heart of the most talent-rich region in the country.
As for Georgia’s willingness to travel hard, they’ll open in Norman and Pasadena two of the next three years. How’s Mizzou doing on that front?
Personally I hate the announcers they chose!!! A known Georgia hater, and a woman who tries to sound like a man! The other, who cares????
Might as well put Dan Mullen in coverage!!!! It only gets better from here!!!! The day will come when little Nicky will be calling Georgia games!!! That will be yet another Georgia hater!!!
Hire Mark Richt in the booth. He can talk, call and analyze games!!! What’s wrong with hiring him??? Too much Georgia love there??? Hasn’t cheated enough for ya?????
PS. Not enough former Dawgs in the booths!!!!!
Negan
Bless your little eitty bitty heart Negan.
Hopefully Oregon brings their scenic sideline talent to Atlanta. Something we all can agree on.
I’m surprised that the exclamation point and question mark keys on Negan’s computer still work.
Negan lives off of our responses to her.
Well, the crew could be a lot worse…. AKA Gary Danielson.
LMAO!!!! SicEM. Heck. Good lord I hate all of CBS. I can’t hate them enough.
I like Todd Blackledge, he’s very knowledgeable and doesn’t come across as pulling for either team.
